A wide range of equipment designed for CO2 (R744) – including heat pumps, racks, a condensing unit, compressors, valves, tubes and oil separators – will be showcased at the AHR Expo (International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition), scheduled for February 2–4, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The AHR Expo is co-sponsored by ASHRAE and AHRI and is held concurrently with ASHRAE’s Winter Conference. Last year in Orlando, Florida, it attracted 50,807 attendees and 1,878 exhibitors.
The following are examples of exhibitors with products designed for natural refrigerants, primarily CO2 but also ammonia (R717) and hydrocarbons like propane (R290).
NDL Industries (booth C2104)
NDL Industries will exhibit a suite of products for CO2 refrigeration systems, including copper fittings, ball valves, check valves and NDL’s new three-way valves. NDL’s CO2 ball valves and check valves are designed to withstand pressures up to 140bar [2,030psi]. NDL will also highlight its DN65 stainless steel CO2 ball valve, which is capable of handling pressures up to 130bar [1,885psi] and notable for its substantial size and suitability for large-scale CO2 applications.
In addition, NDL will feature its CO2 copper fittings rated up to 130bar as well as CO2 service tees designed specifically for installing service valves with 10mm [3/8in] stainless steel stubs.
Danfoss (booth C4907)
Danfoss will feature its Optyma iCO2 condensing unit, a high-performance outdoor condensing unit engineered for low- or medium-temperature transcritical refrigeration and air-conditioning applications. It is designed for distributed architectures in new supermarkets, equipment upgrades, store expansions/remodels and new refrigerated merchandising programs. Engineered to operate efficiently in ambient temperatures up to 43°C (109°F), the condensing unit combines a hermetic, inverter-driven compressor with scroll and rotary mechanisms, and it comes with service valves, a liquid bypass valve and an oil separator.
Danfoss also offers the BOCK HGX56 CO2 T, a 6-cylinder transcritical CO2 compressor, winner of the AHR Expo’s 2025 Innovation Award in the refrigeration category. The HGX56 CO2 T is a semi-hermetic compressor designed for industrial refrigeration, cold storage, ice sports facilities and heat pumps, including process and district heating applications.
Copeland (booth C3607)
Copeland was named the winner of the 2026 AHR Expo Innovation Award in the refrigeration category for its transcritical CO2 scroll compressors with dynamic vapor injection (DVI) technology. Copeland’s transcritical CO2 scroll compressors are designed for medium-temperature, distributed CO2 refrigeration in small supermarkets and convenience stores. They feature dynamic vapor injection technology, which enhances efficiency and simplifies design, said the announcement. Copeland also offers low-temperature subcritical CO2 scroll compressors.
For example, the ZTI scroll compressor is designed for use in transcritical CO2 medium-temperature refrigeration systems, with a standstill pressure of 110bar (1,595psi) and capacities from 7.7 to 18.6kW (2.2 to 5.3TR).
Castel ( booth SL2415)
Castel offers a wide range of components for CO2 systems – what it calls the GO GREEN line – including expansion valves, solenoid valves, safety devices, check valves, pressure regulators, oil control systems and vibration absorbers.
The products are specifically designed, tested and manufactured for CO2 refrigeration systems, accounting for the high operating pressures and typical working conditions of R744 applications.
Temprite (booth SU1050)
Temprite offers coalescent and conventional oil separators, oil reservoirs, drier housings, liquid receivers, suction accumulators and other refrigerant and oil management products for refrigeration and heat pump systems that use ammonia, CO2 and hydrocarbons. Temprite’s oil separators can be used in ultra-low-temperature freezers.
Westermeyer (booth C4019)
Westermeyer’s TOS-series CO2 centrifugal oil separator is designed to operate at transcritical pressures in CO2 refrigeration systems. Centrifugal oil separators can remove large quantities of oil from refrigerant at a wide range of operating capacities.
Noritz America (booth C4929)
Noritz Corporation and the Nihon Itomic Co., Ltd will showcase their new jointly developed CO2 heat pump water heater for the North American market. Nihon Itomic will lead product development while RB Corporation, a company in the Noritz Group, will handle manufacturing. Noritz America will oversee sales and distribution.
Vitalis (booth SU369)
Vitalis will feature its Roxsta CO2 refrigeration system with single-rack capacities up to 960kW (273TR), leveraging technology from German sister company Teko. Equipped with transcritical and subcritical compressors, it is designed for discount stores, supermarkets, commercial kitchens, refrigerated warehouses and industrial processes. Optional heat recovery is included. Vitalis also makes R744 chillers and heat pumps for commercial, industrial, and district energy applications.
Dorin (booth SL932)
Dorin USA was a finalist in the refrigeration category of the 2026 AHR Expo Innovation Award competition for its CD700 Range of CO2 transcritical compressors. The 8-cylinder compressors feature motors up to 220 HP and displacement up to 100m3/h (3,531ft3/h), making it possible to “significantly decrease racks amounts for a given duty, keeping machinery rooms smaller and sensibly decreasing CAPEX,” Dorin said. The CD700 line also features an external discharge manifold, facilitating longer compressor lifetimes, higher efficiency and lower oil temperatures, the company added.
Baltimore Aircoil (C4507)
Baltimore Aircoil (BAC) will showcase its Nexus modular hybrid cooler with PuriStream water treatment system for HVAC and light industrial applications; with hybrid, evaporative, and dry capability it employs touchscreen controls that balance water and energy use.
BAC will also feature a data center-focused model that integrates indoor immersion technology with its broad portfolio of outdoor evaporative, hybrid, adiabatic and dry systems; together, these solutions form the COBALT immersion cooling system. The company was recognized as a 2026 AHR Expo Innovation Award finalist in the cooling category for its upgraded immersion cooling tank, powered by CorTex technology using dielectric fluid.
SWEP (booth C7121)
SWEP, part of the Dover Corporation, features brazed plate heat exchangers for HVAC and industrial applications. Most SWEP heat exchangers are available as either copper-brazed or 100% stainless steel single- and multi-pass units. Plate packages can be customized to supply specific thermal characteristics.
Wieland (booth SU844)
Wieland offers copper and copper-alloy finned tubes that serve as components in heat exchangers. Tube surfaces are optimized to specific heat transfer requirements.
Sanhua (booth C900)
Sanhua offers a wide range of components for commercial refrigeration, including thermostatic and electronic expansion valves, solenoid valves, controllers, pressure sensors and heat exchangers. Its product range is optimized for natural refrigerants such as R290 and CO₂. Sanhua’s brazed plate heat exchangers are suitable for flammable refrigerants, and its heat exchangers can be used in heat pumps, chillers and heating circuits.
Intellihot (booth SL1620)
Intellihot offers a CO2 tankless heat pump water heater, which it has installed at public schools in Washington, D.C. Intellihot was named a finalist in the heating category in AHR Expo’s 2024 Innovation Awards competition for its new heat pumps.
ECO2 Systems (SU1013)
ECO2 Systems is a provider of CO2 heat pump water heaters for the commercial and residential markets in North America. The systems have a COP of over 5.0 and will produce 145/150°F (63/66°C) hot water at all ambient temperatures down to -25°F (-32°C), said the company.
Podak (SU2332)
Podak makes CO2 heat pumps that can be used for hot-water production and space heating in factories, restaurants, sports centers, food kitchens, hospitals and residential buildings. Water temperature can be heated to 98C and COP reaches a peak value of about five When the ambient temperature approaches 30°C, the company said.
