SCM Frigo and Fenagy have announced that they will unveil a new jointly developed CO2 (R744) heat pump at their shared booth during Chillventa 2024.
According to a joint press release, the purpose of sharing booth 7-440 at the biennial event is to “demonstrate the power of partnership in driving the future of sustainable heating and cooling technologies.” Besides displaying the unit they have collaborated on together, both manufacturers will showcase individual products.
“Partnering with SCM Frigo allows us to combine our expertise and resources to push the boundaries of what is possible in sustainable heating and refrigeration technology,” said Kim Christensen, Managing Director of Fenagy. “Together we are shaping the future of the industry toward a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.”
Chillventa showcases HVAC, heat pump and refrigeration technologies for commercial and industrial applications. The show will be held at the NürnbergMesse exhibition center from October 8‒10 in Nuremberg, Germany.
New CO2 heat pump: “This product represents a significant advancement in green technology, utilizing state-of-the-art CO2 technology to deliver an environmentally friendly solution for heating and climate control,” the companies remarked. No additional details on the heat pump were provided.
SCM Frigo products: SCM Frigo will bring two new products to Chillventa 2024.
- Cubo2 Smart Low Noise: With a brushless direct current (BLDC) variable-speed compressor, the CO2 condensing unit for transcritical applications offers direct communication with refrigerated units.
- MWL-Lean 2.0: A compact solution for convenient stores and other small-scale applications, with “easy” installation and maintenance, according to SCM Frigo.
- The Italy-based company designs and produces CO2 condensing units, chillers, commercial and industrial racks, subcritical packs and cascade systems. According to SCM Frigo, it has sold more than 10,000 CO2 refrigeration units globally.
Fenagy products: The Danish OEM manufactures large-scale CO2 and hydrocarbon-based heat pumps and cooling systems.
- Fenagy is presenting its HCI-1000 1MW (284TR) water-to-water isobutane (R600a) heat pump to the public for the first time. Klaus Jensen, Sales Director of Industrial Refrigeration and Heating, gave NaturalRefrigerants.com a sneak peek of the new isobutane heat pump earlier this year.
- Fenagy will also exhibit its H-1800 2MW (569TR) CO2 heat pump. The company has recently provided its industrial-scale CO2 heat pumps for district heating projects in Denmark.
Under the same umbrella: SCM Frigo and Fenagy are both owned by Swedish HVAC&R manufacturer Beijer Ref.
- SCM Frigo and Fenagy also carry the ATMO Approved Natural Refrigerants Label. SCM Frigo was reapproved in May and Fenagy in February. ATMOsphere is the publisher of NaturalRefrigerants.com.
Quotable: “This collaboration with Fenagy exemplifies the power of joint innovation,” said Nicola Pignatelli, Managing Director of SCM Frigo. “We are thrilled to bring our combined knowledge and passion to Chillventa 2024, where we will showcase how our partnership is driving advancements in CO2 technology and contributing to a more sustainable world.”
