U.S.-based Heatcraft Refrigeration Products, a commercial refrigeration manufacturer owned by Lennox International, has unveiled new CO2 (R744) equipment: a 90bar (1,305psi) low-profile cooler for walk-ins and a 15HP vertical condensing unit.
The company showcased its expanded CO2 lineup at the 2026 AHR Expo (Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Exposition) in Las Vegas, Nevada, held February 2‒4. Heatcraft also announced the opening of a new training center at its facility in Stone Mountain, Georgia, offering certification programs that cover CO2 systems.
“As refrigerant regulations evolve at both the national and state level, Heatcraft continues to optimize and expand its portfolio of solutions,” the company said, adding that its new training program provides counter-service training for wholesalers as well as advanced courses for experienced professionals.
Increasing reliability: Compared to using 45bar (653psi) CO2 evaporators, the new CO2 low-profile cooler, rated for 90bar, reduces the likelihood of refrigerant venting in power outages.
- “It maintains charge more effectively and enables faster restarts after outages or maintenance, minimizing downtime and backup power needs,” Heatcraft said.
- The 90bar unit supports walk-in food retail and restaurant applications.
- The company’s original line of CO2 DX low-profile coolers offers cooling capacities from roughly 1.3 to 13kW (0.37 to 3.7TR) at a SST of −4°C (25°F).
New product: The 15HP CO2 vertical condensing unit is the first of a new line of compact CO2 refrigeration units for Heatcraft, with availability expected later in 2026.
- The company designed the platform as an optimized, future-proof solution for commercial processes and cold storage applications that do not require the high capacities of large CO2 racks.
Supporting the industry: Along with opening a new training center, Heatcraft plans to launch an expanded refrigeration education program in March 2026.
- The new program adds online and in-person courses and certifications, with the new training center accommodating up to 18 students at a time for hands-on experience with live equipment.
- Designed to help onboard new team members, the company’s online Counter Sales Certification program for wholesalers covers core refrigeration concepts, Heatcraft equipment and advanced topics in four self-paced courses.
- The new in-person Heatcraft Masters program offers four certifications through 25 modules and covers CO2 and A2L equipment.
