Chillventa 2026: SRMTec Details Ammonia Heat Pump Modules for 25MW District Heating Installation

By

Rüdiger Rudischhauser, Sales Director at SRMTec, detailed the ammonia (R717) heat pump modules SRMTec built for a 25MW (7,108TR) district heating installation in Denmark. The six modules each consist of two low-temperature, medium-temperature and high-temperature heat pumps.

The system delivers temperatures of up to 83°C (181°F) with flue gas as its source. It has a heating capacity of 20MW (5,686TR) and a cooling capacity of 15MW (4,265TR) with a heating COP of 4.57. Rudischhauser said SRMTec is currently working with its partner on the project, Araner, to develop a follow-up system that is double the size.
