Italian refrigeration component manufacturer OLAB will reveal a “groundbreaking” new product for CO2 (R744) systems at Chillventa 2024, Alberto Bottura, Co-Owner and Managing Director of OLAB, told NaturalRefrigerants.com.
Bottura did not detail what the new product would be but did say it would debut alongside the company’s existing “Ecosystem” lineup.
“OLAB employs custom-made technologies to produce the safest and highest-quality components on the market,” Bottura told NaturalRefrigerants.com. “OLAB Ecosystem components simplify and accelerate installation and maintenance processes while ensuring exceptional, leak-free performance. It encompasses all OLAB technologies that we will present at Chillventa, along with a groundbreaking new product to be unveiled in Nuremberg.”
Chillventa, held every two years, takes place October 8‒10 at the NürnbergMesse exhibition center in Nuremberg, Germany. According to Chillventa organizers, the exhibition is “unrivaled worldwide” for showcasing HVAC, refrigeration and heat pump technologies for commercial and industrial applications.
Booth 7-338
At Chillventa, Bottura will be joined by OLAB Manager Giacomo Bottura and Refrigeration Sales Manager Battista Guerini to present the company’s latest CO2 products and technologies. The company will present eight products from its Ecosystem line, four of which are patented. OLAB will be in booth 7-338.
According to Bottura, all eight products incorporate OLAB’s certified gaskets, no-weld Fast Lock connection system and Revolution System, which enables “the regeneration of the product at the end of its life cycle.”
OLAB will bring the following to Chillventa:
- Series Revolution Universal ball valve
- OLAB Turbo, a weld-free ball valve with a tamper-proof double pinned body and a patented double O ring cap
- OLAB Safe Cap for CO2 system controls
- OLAB Masterflow, a CO2 indicator with crystal glass
- Fast Lock Advanced, a solenoid valve rated to 150bar (2,176psi)
- OLAB Safe Lock, an access fitting with a weld-free connection
- OLAB Fastech, a swivel receiver valve
- OLAB Fast Pro, a swivel changeover with a patented 1in (2.54cm) cylindrical gas swivel inlet
“Our testing certifies that 70% of CO2 system components can be assembled without specialized training to eliminate leaks and reduce assembly costs by 30%,” Bottura told NaturalRefrigerants.com.
At Chillventa 2022, OLAB launched its Series Revolution ball valve rated at 150bar with a safety factor of three (450bar/6,527psi). The flanged ball valve, nominated for the ATMOsphere North America 2023 Innovation of the Year Award, protects connection gaskets in CO2 systems by negating the need for welding on the body of the component.
