Several exhibitors at the China Refrigeration Expo 2025 showcased natural refrigerant products, including those compatible with commercial and industrial ammonia (R717), CO2 (R744) and propane (R290) systems.
The event, held April 27‒29 in Shanghai, was co-organized by the Chinese Association for Refrigeration, China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, Shanghai Society of Refrigeration and Shanghai Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute.

Ammonia: U.S. manufacturer Evapco highlighted its PMRC (Pump Motor Reversing Control) Evaporative Condenser, compatible with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
- German-based GEA showcased its high-pressure ammonia screw compressor, the Grasso L XHP.
R744: Numerous manufacturers highlighted transcritical CO2 compressors and equipment, including: Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, part of the Carrier Group, Danfoss, Dorin, Panasonic, the Bingshan Group and Dalian Xuanke.
- Italian manufacturer Castel showcased valves and other components applicable to R744 systems as part of its Go Green series.
- Chinese manufacturer Heilongjiang ARCO Technology highlighted its ARCO brand products focused on CO2 cascade and low-temperature screw systems.
Hydrocarbons: Dorin showcased its HEX-EM series compressors, designed to operate specifically with propane and propylene (R1270) refrigerants.
- China-based Bfresh, part of the Sonyo Cold Chain (Dalian) company, highlighted its self-contained R290 cabinets.
- Other companies featuring propane compressors at the event included Bingshan Group, Brazil-based Embraco Nidec and Chinese Dalian Sonyo Compressor.
Other products: Finnish manufacturer Vahterus showcased its plate and shell heat exchanger with a fully welded construction suitable for natural refrigerant applications.
- German component manufacturer Wilo featured pumps compatible with CO2 and R290 refrigerants.
