The Wilo Group, a multinational technology company and supplier of pumps and pump systems, has joined the world’s leading natural refrigerant HVAC&R stakeholders as a silver partner of the NaturalRefrigerants.com marketplace.

The company, headquartered in Dortmund, Germany, works across various market segments, including residential and commercial building services, water management and industry, supplying its pump technologies to various manufacturers of HVAC systems.

“The Wilo Group’s pumps and hydraulic systems offer the highest degree of reliability, flexibility and efficiency,” the company says on its website. “OEM customers also benefit from our many years of experience, detailed knowledge of the market and extensive application expertise.”

Founded in 1872, the company originally produced distillation equipment for the drinks industry. In the 1920s, Wilo turned its attention to the circulation of hot water in heating systems and delivered the world’s first glandless heating pump in 1953. In the late 1980s, it produced the world’s first electronically controlled heating circulator and has continued to pioneer various pump technologies since then.

Its products and systems are now used in a range of residential, commercial, public and industrial buildings such as offices, hospitals and hotels. They are also used in several district heating networks, including at its own production site in Hof, Germany, and in a Polish village where waste heat from a local biogas plant provides heating for household and industrial customers.
