ATMO MAC Held in Brussels
ATMOsphere, publisher of NaturalRefrigerants.com, held its third summit dedicated to mobile air-conditioning (MAC) on September 29 in Brussels. The ATMO MAC Summit 2026 × TU Berlin was co-presented with Technische Universität (TU) Berlin’s Department of Heat Transfer and Heat Conversion and featured more than 100 attendees. Presentations focused on the most recent developments in CO2 (R744) and propane (R290) MAC systems. In addition to components suppliers, end users also took the stage, including Volkswagen, Ford and the Dutch national railway. The event kicked off with a surprise address from Cristina Guarda, a member of the European Parliament for the European Greens, about the threat of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and TFA (trifluoroacetic acid).
Granarolo Chooses CO2 for New U.K. Cold Storage Facility
Granarolo, an Italian milk producer, has chosen a CO2 refrigeration system for a new cold storage facility in Willenhall, England. The system serves four-temperature controlled: a chilled warehouse, freezer, freezer lobby and a chiller lobby. The system consists of two independent racks and was designed and installed by Carter Synergy, a U.K.-based HVAC&R contractor.
Baxi Launches New Commercial R290 Heat Pumps
Baxi has expanded its R290 Auriga HP+ air-to-water heat pump range with two new units. Suitable for new build, retrofit and hybrid applications, the heat pumps can deliver hot water up to 70°C (158°F) while operating in heating mode at outdoor temperatures ranging from -20 to 42°C (-4 to 107°F). The Auriga HP+ has a capacity range from 50 to 170kW (14.2 to 48.3TR), while the Auriga HP+ ES offers a capacity range from 55 to 170kW (15.6 to 48.3TR).
Enex Technologies to Showcase New Natural Refrigerant Products at Chillventa 2026
Italian HVAC&R manufacturer Enex Technologies will bring new products and “showcase its broadest-ever natural-refrigerant portfolio” at Chillventa 2026, which will take place in Nuremberg, Germany October 13–15. Among the new products is the v-shaped adiabatic dry cooler, which is suitable for process cooling and data centers. The manufacturer will also debut its RENO CO2 Monoblock, which is a plug-and-play refrigeration system with an integrated onboard gas cooler rated for up to 140bar (2,030psi).
Enex Technologies will also introduce an isobutane (R600a) high-temperature booster heat pump, which is designed for process heating, waste heat recovery and domestic hot water production. The introduction of isobutane expands Enex Technologies’ portfolio from four to five natural refrigerants, according to the company.
