Panasonic Brings CO2 Condensing Units to Singapore

The first Panasonic CO2 (R744) outdoor condensing unit (OCU) in Singapore has been installed at a Sheng Siong supermarket. The unit is factory pre-assembled, which reduces indoor space requirements and installation work. Panasonic is a leading manufacturer of CO2 OCUs, with more than 39,000 of its systems installed worldwide. In 2025, the company sold 2,500 OCUs in Europe, Gaku Shimada, Managing Director of Panasonic Cold Chain Poland, told NaturalRefrigerans.com.

Clivet R290 Heat Pump Installed in Historic U.K. Home

A 16kW (4.5TR) propane (R290) air-source Clivet heat pump has been installed in a home in Boston, England, that dates back to 1844. The project is reportedly the first instance of a Clivet Edge Pro model being installed in the U.K. Clivet’s propane heat pump provides space heating and domestic hot water. It replaced a gas-fired boiler with a heating capacity of 40kW (11.3TR), and required the replacement of just three of the house’s 19 radiators. The home in Boston is owned by the founder of Ultimate Renewables Supplies, the U.K.’s only distributor of Clivet heat pumps.

Wieland Announces Expansion of Ohio Production Facility

Wieland has announced the creation of a second production facility in Delaware, Ohio, that will produce heat exchangers designed for use in data centers. The German manufacturer will invest $15 million (€12.8 million) in the 100,000ft2 (9,290m2) facility, which is expected to create 100 jobs. Wieland, which is known for its K65 copper tubes for CO2 systems, moved into heat exchangers in 2024 with its acquisition of Italian manufacturer Onda. Wieland previously announced a $500 million (€429 million) expansion of its copper tube manufacturing facility in East Alton, Illinois, in 2024.

Pipelife Releases Residential Indoor R290 Heat Pump for Irish Market

Austria-based piping manufacturer Pipelife has released an air-source residential indoor propane heat pump designed specifically for the Irish market. The Inova heat pump offers 3.2kW (0.9TR) of heating capacity and provides space heating and domestic hot water. It is paired with a 200L (52gal) buffer tank and has a refrigerant charge of 450g (0.99lbs). Safety features include a gas separator to prevent refrigerant from entering the water circuit and an internal gas sensor that ramps the fan to 100% to dissipate any leak outside.

“We developed Inova in response to what Irish apartment schemes need – simple, compact, reliable heat pumps with no outdoor units,” said Eoghan Considine, Renewables Specification Manager at Pipelife Ireland, in a statement.
