Epta announced on February 17 that it has completed its acquisition of Hauser, with the deal increasing the Epta Group’s revenues to more than €2 billion ($2.3 billion) annually and its headcount to more than 10,000 employees.

The multinational manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment announced its acquisition of Hauser, an Austrian manufacturer of self-contained and remote refrigeration cabinets and industrial refrigeration systems, in July 2025. It said at the time that the goal of the deal is “to enhance [the] Epta Group’s presence and competitiveness in the retail sector.” Hauser operates two plants, one in Austria and one in the Czech Republic.

“This operation marks a key milestone in Epta’s long-term strategy,” said Marco Nocivelli, CEO of Epta, in a press release. “By combining competencies, technologies and scale, we significantly enhance our ability to drive sustainable and digital innovation. The acquisition of Hauser further strengthens our offering along the full value chain and consolidates our leadership in natural refrigeration and energy-efficient solutions.”

Epta and Hauser both manufacture commercial refrigeration equipment, including plug-in propane (R290) cases, remote CO2 (R744) cases and CO2 racks. Hauser also manufactures industrial refrigeration systems using CO2, ammonia (R717) and synthetic refrigerants.

“Joining Epta marks a pivotal moment for our company,” said Thomas Loibl, CEO of Hauser, in a press release. “With a global partner that shares our core values, Hauser is well positioned to further consolidate its footprint while continuing to deliver long- term value to customers.”

Epta told NaturalRefrigerants.com in July 2025 that it is “actively evaluating further expansion opportunities,” specifically new acquisitions/partnerships in Asia and North America.

“The acquisition of Hauser further strengthens our offering along the full value chain and consolidates our leadership in natural refrigeration and energy-efficient solutions.”
