ATMOsphere, publisher of NaturalRefrigerants.com, has announced that the first-ever ATMO Middle East will be held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from September 7–8 2026.

“After more than 80 conferences on five continents, we’re now coming to the Middle East,” said Marc Chasserot, ATMOsphere’s Founder and CEO. “This will be the first of what we hope are many events in the Middle East. Our intention is to be here for the long-term and help push the market toward natural refrigerants.”

ATMO Middle East will gather HVAC&R stakeholders to discuss the f-gas transition in the region and the role CO2 (R744), ammonia (R717) and hydrocarbons will play in it. Leading manufacturers and end users will share real-world case studies on natural refrigerants used in commercial and industrial applications in high-ambient temperature (HAT) regions. In addition to refrigeration, sessions will also focus on natural refrigerants in commercial HVAC in HAT regions.

Along with manufacturers and end users, policy developments, both in the UAE and the broader region, will also be covered. The UAE ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol in 2024, and the Global Cooling Pledge, which commits signatories to reducing cooling-related emissions, was launched in Dubai during COP28 in December 2023 and has been signed by more than 70 countries to date.

“We want to engage with government officials from the GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] region, investors, end users already employing this technology here and in similar regions, and the best technology providers that can bring much-needed expertise,” said Chasserot.

ATMO Middle East will also feature sessions on standards, certifications and training as well as the latest research in PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). “People here are aware of the PFAS risk from synthetic refrigerants,” said Chasserot.

Multinational refrigeration systems manufacturer Epta is the platinum sponsor of ATMO Middle East 2026. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available, and those interested in sponsoring the event can find more information here and by contacting ATMOsphere’s Partnership Manager Silvia Scaldaferri at silvia.scaldaferri@shecco.com.
