Temperature Sensors

KRIWAN’s PTC temperature sensors provide precise and dynamic thermal protection for electric motors, generators, and industrial applications. Designed for overload protection and continuous temperature monitoring, these sensors meet DIN VDE V 0898-1-401 (formerly DIN 44081/44082) and ensure fast and reliable shutdown in case of critical overheating.

KRIWAN PTC screw-in sensors are designed for direct temperature measurement in liquids and gases, making them ideal for cylinder heads, compressors, and hydraulic systems. Featuring a steep R/T characteristic, these sensors provide an immediate resistance increase upon reaching the nominal response temperature (NAT), triggering a protective shutdown.

Encased in a corrosion-resistant stainless-steel housing, they withstand aggressive media, vibrations, and extreme operating conditions. Various thread types (NPT, UNF, G) and temperature ranges from 60°C to 160°C allow seamless integration into diverse systems. Multiple sensors can be connected in series to monitor different temperature limits cost-effectively.

PTC winding sensors are directly embedded in motor windings, enabling thermal overload detection at the source. Their low thermal inertia ensures rapid response to excessive heat buildup, preventing damage to insulation materials. The sensors’ steep R/T curve exceeds DIN standards, allowing for faster and more precise shutdown activation.

KRIWAN manufactures these sensors in a fully automated process with 100% quality control, ensuring high reproducibility and long-term stability.

KRIWAN’s PTC+ sensors integrate conventional PTC switching behavior with continuous temperature monitoring (NTC/Pt100/Pt1000), enabling early intervention before shutdown becomes necessary.

AMS sensors, in combination with KRIWAN diagnostic units, detect abnormal temperature increases even before reaching NAT, allowing predictive maintenance and minimized thermal stress.
