T2/TE2 Thermostatic Expansion Valves

The Danfoss T2/TE2 thermostatic expansion valves for CO₂ are designed to regulate the injection of refrigerant liquid into evaporators, with the goal of maintaining optimal refrigerant flow and preventing overloading. This regulation is controlled by refrigerant superheat, which means these valves are particularly suited for liquid injection in “dry” evaporators where the superheat at the evaporator outlet corresponds directly to the evaporator load. This ensures the most efficient operation of the refrigeration system.

A key feature of the T2/TE2 valves is their interchangeable orifice assembly. This allows for easy storage, simplified capacity matching, and enhanced serviceability. It also ensures straightforward cleaning and replacement of the filter, making these valves a highly practical choice for regular maintenance and system optimization.

The valves can be supplied with MOP (Maximum Operating Pressure), which protects the compressor motor from excessive evaporating pressure during normal system operation. The stainless steel bulb and Danfoss patented bulb strap provide fast and reliable installation, along with excellent temperature transfer from the pipe to the bulb. These features help achieve faster response times and more precise temperature regulation within the evaporator.

The T2 and TE2 valves are available with either internal (T2) or external (TE2) pressure equalization. External pressure equalization is recommended for systems using liquid distributors, ensuring a more accurate and responsive control of refrigerant flow. The valves are also designed to withstand the effects of hot gas defrosting, which is common in food retail refrigeration systems, further enhancing their durability and reliability.

For specific temperature ranges, customized versions of these valves can also be supplied, ensuring they meet the precise needs of your refrigeration application.

In terms of technical performance, these valves can operate within a wide temperature range, from -60 °C to +150 °C (-76 °F to +302 °F), making them suitable for a broad spectrum of freezing, refrigeration, and air conditioning applications.
