Egypt’s cooling demand is rising fast. Rising temperatures, fast urbanisation, an expanding cold chain and food security priorities are pushing commercial, industrial and agri-food operators to add cooling capacity fast. The traditional route, buying equipment outright, leaves many of them under-financed, stuck with inefficient legacy systems, and carrying steep energy and maintenance bills alone.
Cooling-as-a-Service (#CaaS) changes that equation. A specialised provider owns, finances, operates, repairs and maintains the cooling assets, and the end user simply pays a service fee for guaranteed performance. The SET Alliance has been building the evidence base for this model across emerging markets, from Latam, India to sub-Saharan Africa, and Egypt is next.
Join BASE Foundation (SET Alliance) and the Egypt Green Building Council (Egypt GBC), alongside Energy Partners (Refrigeration division) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (@EBRD), for a session that will:
- Introduce the CaaS model and its relevance to Egypt’s industrial and commercial cooling needs
- Walk through a live industrial case study from Energy Partners Refrigeration
- Unpack the financing appetite of a development finance institution exploring CaaS in Egypt
- Map the regulatory, financing and procurement barriers specific to the Egyptian market
