The Global Cooling Pledge tackles extreme heat and rising cooling demand. It promotes passive cooling, super-efficient technologies, and climate-friendly refrigerants. Together, these measures can cut cooling-sector emissions by 68% by 2050. At COP29, ministers reinforced the Pledge during the first Annual Cooling Ministerial Meeting. The Pledge also expands equitable access to sustainable cooling while supporting the Paris Agreement and biodiversity goals.
