FB Industrial, a Mexico-based manufacturer of ammonia (R717), CO2 (R744) and propane (R290) refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial applications, has joined the world’s leading natural refrigerant HVAC&R stakeholders as a platinum partner of the NaturalRefrigerants.com marketplace.
The OEM, formed in 1994, is part of the FB Group, which includes BOHN de México, INTERCAL, and FB. The company supports the cold chain from product harvest to the point of sale, including processing, storage and transportation, with locations in Mexico and Chile and a distribution network across Latin America.
FB Industrial entered the natural refrigerants market in 2016, creating a division focused on ammonia for industrial applications. Since then, the company has experienced growing interest in natural refrigeration solutions driven by climate regulations and the demand for greater energy efficiency.
In 2024, the company inaugurated its largest plant in Latin America dedicated to producing industrial refrigeration equipment, giving FB Industrial four facilities to manufacture its complete line of cold chain equipment.
“No matter what the cold [temperature] requirement is, we have the experience to generate it with the highest technology,” the company says on its website.
Last year, FB Industrial built a custom ammonia/CO₂ system for an industrial-sized Mexican bakery. Two ammonia-based chillers meet the bakery’s medium- and high-temperature requirements, while a glycol-cooled subcritical CO2 system meets the low-temperature.
In addition to its industrial focus, FB Group and its brands offer high-capacity condensing units and evaporators for food distribution centers, transcritical CO2 racks for supermarkets and cascade systems for smaller stores.
The company told NaturalRefrigerants.com that it has successfully implemented R290 refrigeration solutions in various projects across Latin America.
“From bottle racks, conservation and freezing chambers, to local and remote monitoring systems, we ensure the proper operation of the entire system,” FB Industrial told NaturalRefrigerants.com.
