Evikon MCI, an Estonia-based developer and manufacturer of sensor-based detection, measurement and control instruments for the HVAC&R industry, has joined the world’s leading natural refrigerant HVAC&R stakeholders as a silver partner of the NaturalRefrigerants.com marketplace.

The company, headquartered in the city of Tartu, was founded in 1991 and manufactures gas leak detectors for ammonia (R717), CO2 (R744), propane (R290) and propylene (R1270) refrigeration systems. Its products are sold in more than 100 countries.

“Thanks to decades of experience in gas detection, we are able to offer different gas detectors and gas detection systems for most of the known refrigerants, including natural refrigerants,” said Richard Sokk, Export Manager at Evikon.

In addition to gas leak detectors, its lineup also includes transmitters and sound- and light-enabled warning signs. Evikon says that its ammonia and CO2 detectors can operate at temperatures down to −40°C (−40°F) thanks to a built-in heating element that prevents condensation from forming and freezing on the sensor.

Its CO2 sensors have a range of 0–50,000ppm. In addition to standalone products, Evikon also offers complete systems via a partnership with its sister company, Evikontroll Systems, which manufactures μGas control panels.

“Being a part of the NaturalRefrigerants.com community means a lot to us as one of our goals is contributing to a greener future by making natural refrigerant plants a safer place,” said Sokk.

Evikon attended Chillventa 2024, where its “latest technologies designed to meet the evolving needs of the refrigeration and HVAC industries” were showcased. Chillventa was held October 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany.
