Eliwell Controls, an Italian manufacturer of control systems and services for commercial and industrial HVAC&R equipment, has joined the world’s leading natural refrigerant stakeholders as a silver partner of the NaturalRefrigerants.com marketplace.
The company offers a range of standard and custom products for refrigeration and air-conditioning applications. Among its key offerings is the DOMINO series of controls for transcritical CO2 (R744) racks, designed to enhance system efficiency by up to 25%. Part of the DOMINO family, the EWCM 9000 PRO-HF is engineered to optimize system performance, ensuring pressure stability while reducing wear on mechanical components and minimizing maintenance requirements.
Eliwell’s portfolio also includes the EWCM EO controllers, which support subcritical and cascade CO2 systems, as well as ammonia (R717) compressors and racks. Its PXV coils provide precise modulation of electronic valves in R744-based refrigeration systems.
In 2022, Eliwell controllers were included in an integrated transcritical CO2 heating and cooling system at a cold storage facility in Switzerland. A year later, the system’s manufacturer – Swiss OEM Biaggini Frigoriferi – shared that the installation had cut the facility’s energy consumption by 30%.
Beyond hardware, Eliwell also delivers design and advisory services.
Founded in 1980, Eliwell initially focused on temperature setting and monitoring solutions for commercial and industrial plants. The company expanded into the refrigeration market in 1986 and air-conditioning in 1991.
Since 2014, Eliwell has been a part of the Schneider Electric group, a European multinational specialist in digital automation and energy management.
