NaturalRefrigerants.com, the world’s leading natural refrigerant HVAC&R stakeholders, is announcing the launch of “Why It Matters: Curated News With Commentary,” a new content offering that summarizes and analyzes news outside the natural refrigerant industry.

Why It Matters enables NaturalRefrigerants.com to broaden its coverage and write about stories that, while not always directly involving natural refrigerants, have the potential to make an impact on the industry. This includes the Biden administration’s recent $4.3 billion (€3.9 billion) in Climate Pollution Grants, the increasing struggle to regulate HVAC technicians in Africa as demand for air-conditioning spikes and a new Canadian law aiming to regulate greenwashing.

Why It Matters doesn’t just summarize these stories; it also makes the connection between them and the natural refrigerant industry. Smaller stories within the sector are also covered, such as a Massachusetts town receiving a state grant of $750,000 (€691,425) to purchase a CO2 (R744) refrigeration system for an ice rink based on the fact that it chose to use a natural refrigerant.

Why It Matters posts are written by NaturalRefrigerants.com’s team of journalists, but, unlike the articles that appear on NaturalRefrigerants.com, these articles do not feature original reporting. They are also shorter in length and appear only on the site’s homepage.

A new FAQ

NaturalRefrigerants.com recently launched a new natural refrigerants FAQ, which serves as a resource for HVAC&R professionals at all levels as well as those curious about natural refrigerants and their applications. The FAQ is designed to provide a single source of information on both natural refrigerants and their applications. Currently, it has four sections:

  • What are natural refrigerants?
  • What is the difference between synthetic and natural refrigerants?
  • What are the applications of natural refrigerants?
  • Types of natural refrigerants

Questions answered in the current version of the FAQ include, “Is the production of natural refrigerants eco-friendly?”; “Can PFAS be removed from water?”; and “Which companies/industries use natural refrigerants?” Michael Garry, Editor-at-Large at NaturalRefrigerants.com and the FAQ’s author, said more content will be added in the coming months.

“We will be adding to the FAQ, which represents the go-to source for all of your questions about natural refrigerants and why they are an essential and future-proof solution for refrigeration, cooling and heating applications,” said Garry. “NaturalRefrigerants.com is the best source in the world for information on the latest trends and news about natural refrigerant-based systems, including those using CO2, hydrocarbons and ammonia [R717].”
